Preparations made for Border Spring program ahead of lunar New Year 2022
PANO - Major General Phung Quoc Tuan, Deputy Political Commissar of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, worked with the Vietnam Women’s Union on November 16 to discuss preparations for the Border Spring program on the occasion of the lunar New Year (Tet) 2023 in border areas in Thua Thien Hue.

During the working session, Senior Colonel Van Ngoc Que, Deputy Political Chief of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, briefed delegates on the contents of the Border Spring program in 2023.
Accordingly, the program will consist of a series of activities, including visiting and presenting Tet gifts, granting scholarships to disadvantaged students with excellent academic results, handing over gratitude houses and breeding cows to policy beneficiaries, providing free medical examination and medicines for local people, among others.
In order to successfully organize the program, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women’s Union proposed to conduct cultural activities, present gifts and introduce livelihood models in Thua Thien Hue province’s border areas.

Addressing the event, Major General Phung Quoc Tuan required leaders of the Vietnam Women’s Union to direct its functional units to actively join the program’s activities and closely coordinate with the Vietnam Border Guard Command to call for donations to support and offer gifts to local people in border areas.
Meanwhile, functional agencies of the Vietnam Border Guard Command and the Vietnam Women’s Union Central Committee should work together to successfully organize the program.
