Border guards save troubled fisherman
PANO - While patrolling in the Nghe An provincial waters, staff of the Lach Con Control Station of Quynh Phuong Border Post of Nghe An Provincial Border Guard successfully rescued a distressed fisherman.

Initially, at 07:45 on January 15, the patrol team of Quynh Phuong Border Post received a mayday signal from Hoang Van Tuan, a native of Quynh Phuong ward, Hoang Mai town of Nghe An province, and the captain of trawler NA 90535 TS which is operating in the Nghe An waters.
Directed by the provincial Border Guard Command, Quynh Phuong Border Post sent troops to the scene. After 45 minutes, the force approached the trawler at about four nautical miles to the southeast of Lach Con Control Station.
They gave first aid to fisherman Ho Van Hieu, aged 37, who had symptoms of acute appendicitis. At 09:00 on the same day, the force took the ill fisherman ashore for further treatment.
