Earlier, at 14:35 on September 20, fisherman Pham Anh Khoa, born in 1978, from Son Loc commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province, suffered severe injuries on his neck while fishing for squid at sea.
His captain Pham Van Tuy from Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province immediately sent a mayday signal to relevant forces for rescue.
At 16:00 on the same day, after receiving the information, the Nhat Le Border Guard Station mobilized personnel and vehicles for the rescue mission.
Unfortunately, due to the seriousness of the injury, the fisherman died.
The Nhat Le Border Guard Station has coordinated with police forces and the People’s Procuracy of Dong Hoi City to hand over the victim’s body to his family for a funeral in his hometown.
