Border guards join hands in providing health checkups for Cambodians
PANO - A Vietnamese delegation has conducted meaningful activities for people in Chay Chot and Kongpungkrosang communes of Preychulsa district, Takeo province of Cambodia
Accordingly, the delegation from the Fatherland Front Committee and police of Chau Doc city, and Vinh Nguon Border Post under the An Giang provincial Border Guard Command gave free health checkups, medicines and presented 300 gifts to local poor people. One hundred and fifty children of the two communes were given haircuts as well.
The delegation took this chance to raise local people’s awareness of environmental protection, food hygiene and safety, and prevention of common diseases, which usually occur after flooding.
They also presented Chay Chot commune authorities with VND 20 million to build an incinerator.
The activities, in celebration of the Sene Dolta festival of the Khmer people, were expected to promote the solidarity, friendship and close ties between authorities, border protection forces and people on both sides of the shared borderline, thus contributing to building a borderline of peace, friendship, cooperation, and development.
