Vietnam, Cambodia enhance cooperation in peacekeeping operation
PANO – The leadership of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army always supports and creates favorable conditions for Vietnamese and Cambodian peacekeeping forces to expand cooperation, contributing to promoting security and defense in each country.
The statement was made by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, while receiving General Sem Sovanny, Director of the National Center for Peacekeeping Forces Management, Mines and Explosive Remnants of War Clearance of Cambodia, in Hanoi, on September 30.

General Nam also expressed delight at the encouraging developments in Vietnam-Cambodia defense cooperation over the past time, especially in joining UN peacekeeping operations.
For his part, General Sovanny expressed his deep gratitude to the valuable support of Vietnam for Cambodia in its fight to overthrow the genocidal regime of Pol Pot.
As the bilateral defense relations are developing intensively and effectively, the Cambodian general hoped that the two sides will further strengthen their cooperation in UN peacekeeping operations in the future.
