Outstanding collectives and individuals honored at the event

Given the sentiments, responsibility, and sharing of difficulties with people in border areas, in 2019, the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command directed Ca Xeng Border Post to work with the Party Committee and authorities of Thuong Hoa commune, Minh Hoa district to study and choose Mo O O O village road for its “Light in border areas” program. Along the 2.5km road, 40 light poles, costing over VND 31 million, were installed.

The completion of such project has helped change the face of the new-style rural area and received high appreciation from local party committee, authorities, and people.

With its success, the “Light in border areas” model has been selected as a “Good Mass Mobilization” model of the military by the Vietnam Border Guard Command and carried out by the command’s affiliates nationwide.

Meanwhile, acknowledging the substantive effectiveness of this model, the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command has kept leading its agencies and units to team with organizations and enterprises to multiply the model in disadvantaged villages in remaining border and coastal areas to ensure that all villages in these areas are covered with light, facilitating local people’s daily life. This contributes to upholding political security, social order and safety and firmly managing and protecting national border security and sovereignty, beautifying the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the new situation.
