Soc Trang’s border guard conducts programs to support children
PANO – The Soc Trang provincial Border Guard Command held a meeting on December 3 to kick off the “Troops support children to go to school” project in 2022.

Implementing the Vietnam Border Guard Command’s Plan on organizing the “Troops support children to go to school” project in the 2021 – 2030 period, the provincial Border Guard Command directed its border posts to coordinate with local authorities to learn about situation of needy students in maritime border area to provide support.
Border posts under the provincial border guard command has decided to provide support to 11 students who are children of needy Khmer families or orphans.
At the meeting, the provincial border guard command handed over grants, worth VND 48,4 million in total, to 11 students in maritime border area. The project provided VND 4.4 million per student per four months. In addition, the unit also gave each child 25kg of rice and 20 notebooks.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Political Commissar of the Soc Trang provincial Border Guard Command Senior Colonel Le Van Anh emphasized that the small gifts will contribute to enhancing the close relationship between troops and people, strengthening solidarity, building new-style rural areas, maintaining political security and social order in maritime border area, and encouraging children in difficult circumstances to study.
The deputy political commissar affirmed that the unit’s chain-of-command will regularly give support to ensure that the project is really a solid fulcrum to help needy students to continue their study.
