Political Commissar of the Vietnam Border Guard Command Major General Nguyen Anh Tuan chaired the event. Lieutenant General Le Duc Thai, Member of the Party Central Committee, Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, was also present at the event.
Over the past 10 years, the unit’s Party committees and chains-of-command at all levels have directed and strictly implemented resolutions and directions of the Party Central Committee and the Central Military Commission (CMC) on the Fatherland protection mission.
The unit also made recommendations to the CMC and Ministry of National Defense about policies and measures to manage and firmly protect national sovereignty and border security. Meanwhile, it has actively grasped situations so as to be ready in any circumstances; contributed to the fight against crimes in border areas and natural disaster prevention and control, among others.
Besides, the Vietnam Border Guard Command’s Party Committee has also finalized the institutionalization of border guard work as regulated by the Party’s guidelines and policies; made prompt recommendations to the building of the Vietnam Border Guard Law project to submit to the National Assembly, to name but a few.

Concluding the event, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien acknowledged and hailed the remarkable achievements of the border guard force over the past 10-year implementation of the resolution.
He also requested the unit to continue to direct its troops to implement the resolution, enhance the all-people border defense posture in line with people’s security in border areas as well as over sea and islands.
Moreover, they should promote cooperation with functional forces of neighboring countries, contributing to building an environment of peace for socio-economic development. At the same time, the unit was also asked to build its troops so as to meet all task requirements in the current context.
