It is part of activities in response to a program, entitled “Going along with ethnic women on the frontline” for 2018-2022 period, which was jointly organized by the Air Defense- Air Force Service and the Vietnam Women’s Union.

Presenting gifts to ethnic minority people

The program aims to encourage ethnic women in remote areas to overcome difficulties to stabilize their normal lives. Reportedly, a delegation of the Political Department under the Air Defense – Air Force Service visited and offered 50 gift packages, worth VND 1 million each, to needy women in communes of Suoi Giang and An Luong; handed over VND 50 million in cash to a representative of a local boarding school for ethnic minority students in Pang Cang village, Suoi Giang village; as well as provided local people with 10 boxes of medicines, valued at VND 20 million.

Apart from the program, over the past years, female officers of the Air Defense – Air Force Service have organized a large number of meaningful activities for disadvantaged people, national contributors in remote and borders areas, including giving gifts to needy students with excellent academy results, providing free health checks for local people, and more.

According to Senior Colonel Ngo Quoc Chung, this is a meaningful activity to arouse the will and inner strength of Air Defense – Air Force troops as well as members of the Vietnam Women Union to support people in remote and mountainous areas to promote solidarity between local people and on-duty soldiers in the areas, and embellish the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers.
