On the first day of this year’s enlistment drive, military units welcoming new-enlistees were affiliates from the Hanoi Capital Military Command, Military Regions 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 9.
Leaders from the Ministry of National Defense, the General Staff, and the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) attended the enlistment ceremonies.

Attending the ceremony in Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province, Sr. Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and Director of the GDP expressed his delight at the eagerness of the enlistees. He encouraged them to further study and practice to beautify the “Determined-to-Fight, Determined-to-Win” flag of the Vietnam People’s Army. In addition, they should observe military discipline, improve their political stance, promote ethical virtues of revolutionary soldiers and Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the new situation and become good soldiers.
This year, 60 percent of youths in Viet Tri city, Phu Tho province enlisted in the military voluntarily wrote petitions to perform their service. Two thirds of the enlistees have gone through high school, college or university education.
* In Hung Yen city in the province of the same name, 100 percent of the recruited youths are Youth Union members and 13 percent of them have graduated from colleges and universities.

Hoang Xuan Chien congratulated them and hoped that they would promote the heroic province’s tradition, try their best in the military environment, show solidarity with comrades and excellently fulfill their service.

* Present at the ceremony held by District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Politburo member and Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen and permanent member of the CMC and Deputy Defense Minister Vo Minh Luong encouraged the enlisted youths.
According to the organizers, over 2.7 percent of this year’s enlistees in the city have already been admitted to the Party and over 47 percent of the recruits have vocational training, college and university education.
* Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Huy Vinh attended the youth-handover ceremony in Dong Trieu city, Quang Ninh province.

In 2025, the city remains its leading position in Quang Ninh province and Military Region 3 in terms of quality and targets of enlistment. The rate of youths holding college and university degrees is over 35 percent. Attentively, all enlistees have been trained to be possibly admitted to the Party and almost of them are in good health conditions.
* The enlistment festival of Hanoi’s Ba Dinh district was attended by Politburo member and Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai and Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Pham Hoai Nam.
This year, five out of the youths recruited to the military and public security force are Party members. Before the festival, the district’s authorities and political organizations held various activities for the enlistees such as reporting achievements to Uncle Ho, meeting and awarding the newly-recruited youths, presenting savings books and gifts to them.
* The same day, deputy chiefs of the General Staff, namely Sr. Lt. Generals Phung Si Tan, Huynh Chien Thang, Lt. Generals Nguyen Trong Binh, Thai Dai Ngoc and Nguyen Quang Ngoc encouraged recruited youths in Binh Duong province’s Dau Tieng district, Hanoi’s Phuc Tho district, Cao Bang province’s Thach An district, An Giang province’s Chau Thanh district, and Can Tho city, respectively.

On February 14 and 15, 11 provinces and cities in Military Regions 2 and 4 will complete the handover of youths to units for military service.
