Vietnam starts second phase of human trial of Nano Covax
PANO – The Military Medical University, in cooperation with the Pasteur Institute in Ho Chi Minh City, enrolled volunteers for the second phase of the human trial of Nano Covax on February 24 at the Military Medicine Institute.
In the second phase, 560 volunteers, aged from 18 to 60, will be divided into four age groups. The first, second, and third groups, which include 160 people each, will be given doses of 25 mcg, 50mcg, and 75mcg, respectively, while the last 80-member group will get a placebo.

Nano Covax vaccine is developed and manufactured by HCM City-based Nanogen Pharmaceutical Biotechnology JSC. Before conducting clinical trials, the first Vietnam-made COVID-19 vaccine met all clinical criteria and was strictly checked by relevant agencies.
The first phase of the human trials of the first Vietnam-made COVID-19 vaccine was conducted last year at the Military Medical University in Hanoi. The vaccine was highly evaluated for its safety and efficiency by the Health Ministry and eligible for the second phase.
