PANO - Troops from Division 330, Military Zone 9, have been assisting local people in some provinces upstream along the Mekong River in harvesting crops and yields in order to lower reduce damage caused by current storms and rains.

Soldiers help local people harvest crops

In An Giang Province, having reinforced dykes in the communes of My Duc and O Long Vi, Chau Phu District, over 800 troops of Regiment 1 and some battalions went to Cho Moi District to harvest crops and yields for local farmers on September 30th.

Meanwhile, nearly 200 troops of Regiment 3 successfully harvested and transported around 10 hectares of waterlogged fields of almost ripe rice in My Thanh Ward, Long Xuyen City.

In Kien Giang Province, troops from Battalion 6, Regiment 20, picked their way in waterlogged fields to collect nearly 10 hectares of sweet potato for farmers in Vinh Dieu Commune, Giang Thanh District.

On the same day, 200 troops from Regiment 3 went to localities in Dong Thap Province to help local people control flooding and harvest yields.
