Theoretical and practical research on national defense to be boosted

Both sides ink a cooperation agreement in the 2021-2026 period.

The event was co-chaired by Chief of the GDP General Luong Cuong and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council Prof., Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang.

Over the past time, the GDP and the Central Theoretical Council have closely worked together to further study achievements and shortcomings as well as lessons learnt from the 30-year implementation of the Platform for National construction in the period of transition to socialism (amended and further developed in 2011), so as to apply them to the cause of military construction and defense consolidation, as well as national protection in the current context.

On this occasion, both sides inked a cooperation agreement in the 2021-2026 period, focusing on some specific contents related to national defense.

Addressing the event, General Luong Cuong underscored that the two units have effectively maintained sound cooperation, making many proposals to the Party, State and Central Military Commission, contributing to building the military, consolidating national defense, and protecting the Fatherland.

The military political chief hoped that in the coming time, the bilateral coordination would be continuously heightened, making contribution to the target of building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern people's military by 2030.

For his part, Prof., Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang affirmed that the outcomes of the cooperation between the GDP and the Central Theoretical Council so far have provided an important foundation for the Party and State to build plans for military and defense strategic directions in the cause of national construction and defense in the current context, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
