Social Insurance Agency handed over to GDP

The event was chaired by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San, who is a member of Council for Vietnam Social Insurance Management, and attended by GDP’s Deputy Chief Senior Lieutenant General Do Can.

On May 29, 2008, the Defense Minister signed a decision on establishing the MND’s Social Insurance Agency. In 2017, under the direction of the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, the GDP directed the MND’s Social Insurance Agency to report on the nine-year implementation of the social and medical insurance work. The report was a foundation for the stable operation of the unit as a specialized and independent agency in charge of the social and medical insurance work in the military until now.

Speaking at the event, the GDP’s deputy chief said that receiving the agency will help the general department to make recommendation to the Central Military Commission and MND to lead and direct the completion of legal documents and implementation of policy work in general and social and medical insurance in particular to meet the requirement of military building and national defense consolidation in the new period.

Addressing the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Vu Hai San asked the MND’s Social Insurance Agency to bring into play obtained achievements over the past time, overcome shortcomings, and continue studying higher levels’ directives on enhancing the quality of staff work and implementation of social and medical insurance in the military.

General San asked the unit to closely work with relevant agencies in the military, the Vietnam Social Insurance and Medical Insurance to effectively carry out assigned missions.
