PANO - General Kvan Siem, Vice-Chief of the Joint Staff, Commander of the Engineering Corps, under the Cambodian National Defence Ministry, led a delegation of the Royal Cambodian Engineering Corps on a working visit to the Vietnamese Engineering Corps.

The delegation visited Vietnamese units, factories and colleges to learn and exchange experiences.

The guests wanted the hosts to provide supports and assistance for the Royal Cambodian Engineering Corps.

Particularly, Cambodian high-ranking engineering officers asked their Vietnamese counterparts to share experiences in training engineering officers and specialists, the clearing and defusing of explosives (so-called “UXO”) left by wars and natural disasters, search and rescue activities, as well as to impart information and technical knowledge of new equipment.

The visitors admired Vietnamese engineering units particularly when they learned that Vietnamese engineering soldiers participated in economic activities and helped local people reduce poverty besides their main tasks implementation.

During their visit, the visiting delegation had a warm meeting with Vietnamese voluntary engineering veterans who previously had served in Cambodia.
