Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Gau chaired the meeting.

In his speech, Gen. Gau highly appreciated the pro-activeness of the Vietnam Institute for Defense Strategy and History, the standing agency of the steering committee, in coordinating and implementing tasks in preparation for the seminar. He emphasized that the event aims to affirm and further clarify the historical and contemporary significance of President Ho Chi Minh’s “Appeal for national resistance war” (December 19, 1946) and “A call to compatriots and soldiers nationwide to be determined to defeat the U.S. invaders” (July 17, 1966).

It will also emphasize applying the core values of the two appeals for national resistance wars to the cause of national construction and defense in the new context, thereby contributing to strengthening trust, fostering political stance, enhancing the will for self-reliance, and nurturing the aspiration for a prosperous and happy country in the new era of national rise.
