PANO - Dong Bang Unit of Tay Nguyen army corps recently held a ceremony to launch an emulation campaign to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the national resistance war (19-12-1946 – 19-12-2006).

Present at the event were Lieutenant General Pham Hong Thanh, deputy director of the Politics General Department, the political commissar and commander of Tay Nguyen army corps, and representatives of various army units, agencies and branches.

During the ceremony, Colonel Nguyen The Tan, Head of the Dong Bang army unit, praised the unit’s achievements so far this year and launched an emulation campaign with the motto “fulfiling military tasks of 2006 with the pride and tradition of the national resistance war 60 years ago”.

Lieutenant General Pham Hong Thanh, Deputy Director of the Politics General Department, Vice Chairman of Defence Ministry’s Committee in charge of emulation drives and rewards, stressed that the campaign was one of the practical deeds to implement the Party Central Committee’s instructions on celebrating the 60th anniversary of the national resistance war.

The campaign is also to respond to the emulation drive launched by the Prime Minister to successfully carry out tasks of socio-economic development in 2006 and in the 2006-2010 period.
