PANO - The General Department II of the Ministry of National Defence on July 16th unveiled a monument for Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Major General Dang Tran Duc, an outstanding intelligence officer of the Vietnam People’s Army, in Thanh Tri ward, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi.
The monument, located on an area of 230sq.m, shows deep gratitude to him by the general department’s troops.
Working undercover for over 20 years, Duc's family silently faced hardship. However, he overcame all difficulties to fulfill assigned missions.
His photos and items displayed at the monument will help educate and popularize achievements of the defence intelligence sector to younger generations.
