At the working session, Gen. Nam heard reports delivered by the GDDI representatives on the outcomes of the research on the designing and manufacturing project authored by the GDDI. He also heard reports by relevant agencies and units on the progress, effectiveness, advantages and shortcomings of some research projects on improving and integrating self-propelled artillery guns conducted before.

In his concluding speech, Gen. Nam highly praised the GDDI and other relevant agencies and units for their pro-active coordination in the project.

He emphasized the consistent policy of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on innovating weapons and technical equipment in a modern and mobile direction, particularly those of the Artillery Corps.

He said that after the assessment on the project is made, agencies should give recommendations to the leadership of the Ministry of National Defense on the feasibility of the project.

Regarding the production process, the deputy defense minister asked the GDDI to pay attention to the vehicles used for the integration of the artilleries, ensuring that they have outstanding techno-tactical features to promote the superiority of the original weapons.

He also requested the GDDI, the General Department of Technical Services, and other units involved to collect opinions from would-be users during building projects, doing research, manufacturing, checking and approving products to learn about their demands and requirements on the weapon’s techno-tactical features.
