In his opening remarks, Major General Le Ngoc Than, Political Chief of the GDDI, stated that in 2023, the GDDI successfully accomplished all assigned missions, especially in providing strategic advice for the Party, State, Government, and Ministry of National Defense (MND) on the building and development of defense industry.

Meanwhile, the general department obtained remarkable achievements in researching and manufacturing new products, and carried out 150 science and technology projects at all levels. Also, the GDDI promoted producing weapons and building military ships, among others.
Major General Le Ngoc Than underlined that press agencies inside and outside the military have stood side by side with the general department in task performance while boosting information dissemination among troops in the whole military and people across the country, contributing to affirming the role and position of defense industry in the new situation.
Speaking at the event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Manh Hung expressed sincere thanks to reporters and editors from press agencies inside and outside the military for their close coordination in popularizing GDDI’s activities last year.

In the time to come, he hoped that press agencies would continue to disseminate information about the implementation of Resolution No.08 on further developing defense industry by 2030 and following years; the results of applying the achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution; the task of making breakthroughs in scientific and technological research; and international cooperation and integration and military external affairs, to name but a few.
