MND and MARD sign coordination agreement
PANO - The Ministry of National Defense (MND) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) signed a coordination agreement on carrying out the socio-economic development mission in combination with defense and security consolidation in the 2023-2025 period and the years to come on August 2 in Hanoi.

The signing ceremony was co-chaired by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Nguyen Hoang Hiep.
Reports presented at the conference reviewed that over the past years, the MND and the MARD have cooperated to issue documents, regulations, and cooperation plans and build defensive areas, contributing to maintaining political stability, consolidating defense and security, and facilitating socio-economic development.
The two ministries have effectively collaborated in response to natural disasters, promoting production, and carrying out agricultural extension programs. The collaboration in protecting fishing grounds and fishermen’s fishing and farming and searching and rescuing troubled trawlers and fishermen at sea has been enhanced and seen positive changes.

Speaking at the conference, the two deputy ministers acknowledged and highlighted the two ministries’ collaboration outcomes over the past two decades; praised functional agencies for their pro-activeness and efforts in carrying out programs and preparing for the signing ceremony.
Leaders of the two ministries asked agencies and units of the two sides to foster their coordination; grasp and strictly implement contents; make recommendations to higher levels to issue documents, regulations, and cooperation programs. They urged standing agencies to advise leaders of the two ministries to build plans and cooperate with units and localities to effectively actualize them.
The chairs also emphasized the need to review and evaluate the implementation of the inked document and put forward measures to enhance the efficiency of future programs.
