Last year, the two ministries comprehensively and unitedly carried out cooperation activities. They realized key science-technology programs and projects in an active and synchronous manner.

In the year, both ministries completed some programs and projects, thus step-by-step mastering hi-tech weapon manufacturing technology, contributing to addressing issues emerging from reality in a timely manner, producing more science-technology products to better serve defense and military missions.

Attentively, the science-technology management mechanism and activities in the military continued to be renovated. Capability of military research organizations was increasingly upgraded. Accordingly, they gradually mastered some core technologies to help them design, create weapons and other technical equipment, especially hi-tech weapons.

At the conference

Based on reports and opinions at the conference, Deputy Minister Vinh and his counterpart from the MoST Bui The Duy reached an agreement that this year the two ministries will further their coordination, cooperate to effectively implement the strategy on science-technology and innovation development by 2030, and complete technical infrastructure system and personnel organization.

Both deputy ministers agreed to give priority to investment in human resources for modern technical equipment and weapons research programs and projects, policies on personnel work to attract more high quality employees, and mobilization of all resources to boost science-technology and innovation activities.

Gen. Vinh suggested functional agencies of the two ministries to promote their joint research on core technology aimed at products with high scientific contents. Besides, they should enhance international cooperation, technology transfer, application of key technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in science and technology research to effectively serve the military’s missions.

The deputy defense minister also asked them to pay attention to building some leading units whose staff are competent, qualified and experienced to effectively participate in the science and technology market.
