At the politico-military conference of Military Region 5

At the conference held via both in-person and online formats by the Party Committee and Command of Military Region 5 (MR5) under the chair of its chief Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc, participants heard a report on MR5’s achievements this year.

In particular, MR5 Party Committee and Chain-of-Command have worked closely with local party committees and authorities to comprehensively implement higher levels’ resolutions, conclusions, and projects. With innovative leadership and organization methods of its leaders, MR5 has reached all military-defense task targets and built a strong and healthy Party organization.

Next year, MR5 Party Committee and Chain-of-command will continue to follow closely and make early forecasts and precise evaluation of situational developments, fulfill all defense-security duties, and deal with defense-security-related arising situations. They will lead the effective implementation of building a defensive area, a comprehensively-strong and exemplary unit.

In 2021, the Department of Search and Rescue under the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army has actively advised the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, General Staff, and National Committee on Incident, Disaster Response and Search and Rescue to direct the effective prevention of incidents, disaster consequence relief and search and rescue.

At its politico-military conference, the Department of Search and Rescue mapped out its tasks for 2022 with a focus on fulfilling all political missions, bettering the advisory role, directing the response to incidents, natural disasters and search and rescue missions in a timely manner to minimize human and property losses.

According to a report delivered at the conference hosted by the Engineering Corps, this year, the corps has excellently performed both routine and unscheduled tasks. It has actively given recommendations to the Ministry of National Defense, strictly observed combat readiness and search and rescue regulations, and improved combat readiness capacity. In addition, it has ensured technical, logistic and financial services for mission implementation while managing troops’ ideological knowledge and paying attention to party and political work.

In 2022, the corps will boost emulation movements with the highest sense of determination, promote activeness, overcome any difficulties, and accomplish all assignments and achieve all set targets.

Also on December 27, Army Corps 4 held a politico-military conference, during which participants heard that this year, nearly 5,000 troops were deployed and volunteered to the front-line in pandemic-hit Southern localities to assist locals in the fight against COVID-19, beautifying the image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers among the people. The training quality of the corps in 2021 has improved together with the quality of political education, force regularity building, and discipline observance.

Next year, Army Corps 4 will concentrate on raising synergy, combat strength, building exemplary and comprehensively-strong affiliates with high training quality and high combat readiness posture.
