During the conference, delegates heard the Resolution of the Central Military Commission (CMC) about defense and security task as well as the building of Military Party Organization in 2023. They also discussed achievements and shortcomings in leadership work in 2022 and mapped out solutions for 2023.

Addressing the event, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam hailed the MR5’s Party Committee for fulfilling all assigned tasks and raising combat readiness capability. They have also actively worked with functional forces to firmly protect national sovereignty, ensure political security and social order, contributing to socio-economic development in the region and along Vietnam - Laos, and Vietnam - Cambodia shared borderlines.

The deputy defense minister also requested the unit to continue to make recommendations to the CMC and Ministry of National Defense (MND), promote leadership in the implementation of defense and security task, and combine socio-economic development with enhancing defense and security, among others.

* On the same day, the Army Corps 1’s Party Committee also reviewed its task implementation via a conference. Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army attended the event.

In 2022, the unit has strictly grasped all resolutions and directions of the Party, CMC and MND so as to accomplish all assigned missions.

Speaking highly of its task performance over the past time, the GDP deputy chief asked the unit to boost political education work so as to build troops’ firm political stance and high determination in performing their assigned missions. At the same time, it should also strictly ensure combat readiness and focus on training quality, among others.
