According to the central report delivered and opinions voiced at the event, in July the Party and political work in the whole military was carried out comprehensively, meeting all targets and closely followed reality, military and defense missions and the building of the Military Party Organization.
Attentively, the military raised troops’ responsibility to undertake and complete assignments, boosted dissemination and oriented thoughts and public opinions on complex and sensitive issues in a timely manner, actualized the Central Military Commission’s conclusion on the leadership results in the performance of military, defense and Military Party Organization building tasks in the first six months and key tasks for the remaining months.
In addition, the collection of votes of confidence for all-level commanding officers was strictly conducted with good quality while the personnel, promotion and salary increase work was implemented as regulated. Moreover, the whole military effectively carried out mass mobilization work with many outdoor activities and promoted gratitude activities to mark the 76th anniversary of the Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day (July 27), among others.
In his concluding speech, General Luong Cuong highly appreciated defense agencies and military units’ pro-activeness in braving difficulties and completing missions.
Regarding the Party and political work in August, the GDP chief laid stress on enhancing education to raise troops’ awareness of and responsibility for Fatherland defense and military building tasks in the new situation; further disseminating information about activities in celebration of the 78th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, the 79th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army, the founding anniversary of the GDP, and 34 years of the All People’s Defense Festive Day; and reviewing the five-year implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution 35 and improving the efficiency of the protection of the Party’s ideological foundation.
General Luong Cuong asked for active dissemination and thought orientations and concretization of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s “Seven Dares” spirit, as well as actualization of the Party chief’s direction that “the military is strong thanks to good education, wise policies and strict discipline.”
He also urged the improvement of the quality of the work in major tasks such as combat readiness, training, regularity building, discipline observance, disaster and disease prevention and control, search and rescue. He noted the consideration of general policies for forces with specialized duties and direction over the organization of Trade Union congresses towards the 10th Military Trade Union Congress.
At the event, General Luong Cuong presented certificates of merit to individuals and collectives for their outstanding achievements in leading and realizing Directive 124 issued by the Standing Board of the Central Military Commission and the 10-year implementation of the “Renovating political education work at units in the new period” project.
