The base was a place where the first training course for logistic officers of the Vietnam People's Army took place 65 years ago. The first cadets received President Ho Chi Minh's encouragement letter on June 15th 1951 and that day was chosen to be the academy's traditional day.
At the former base, the academy's Political Commissar, Lt. Gen. Dang Nam Dien, and participants recalled the school's heroic traditions over the past years. Participating troops had a chance to learn more about their school history. Such an activity will help troops promote responsibility to fulfill their assigned missions and contribute to building a comprehensively strong unit.
The academy also presented 20 gifts to policy families and 20 bikes to disadvantaged school students with good academic records in Phu Luong district. In addition, they offered VND 70 million to Yen Do commune authorities to repair the local war martyrs' cemetery.
