Local armed forces mark founding day
PANO - The Thai Nguyen provincial authorities held a ceremony on April 14 to mark the 70th founding anniversary of the province's armed forces (April 15, 1947).
Present at the ceremony were member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, permanent member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Phan Van Giang; former Director of the General Department of Politics Sen. Lt. Gen. Pham Thanh Ngan; and Commander of Military Region 1 Maj. Gen. Ngo Minh Tien.
Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Tran Quoc To recalled the establishment and development of the provincial armed forces over the past 70 years. Accordingly, the unit has fulfilled their political missions well, significantly contributing to the development of the province over the past years.
Lt. Gen. Phan Van Giang presents the first-class Fatherland Protection Order to the Thai Nguyen provincial armed forces.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, Lt. Gen. Phan Van Giang praised the achievements reached by the local armed forces over the past time. He asked the provincial authorities and people to focus on building a comprehensively strong defense area, and the local armed forces to build comprehensively strong units, especially in terms of politics, while enhancing sense of responsibility and political stance of troops in particular.
The local armed forces must closely follow instructions and directives of the Party and State while promoting the movement “learning and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example” in line with the implementation of Resolution 4 of the 12th Central Party Committee on Party building and Party revamping, he stressed.
On the occasion, the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army under the authorization of the State President presented the first-class Fatherland Protection Order to the provincial armed forces.
