HCM City’s military-defense mission performance observed
PANO – On October 14, the Standing Board of the Central Military Commission and the Standing Board of the Ho Chi Minh (HCM) municipal Party Committee co-held a conference to review the performance of the city’s military-defense mission in line with socio-economic and cultural development under the two organizations’ collaboration and leadership.
General Ngo Xuan Lich, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Defense Minister, and Nguyen Thien Nhan, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh municipal Party Committee co-chaired the conference.

In his speech at the event, Secretary Nhan stressed the significance of the conference and suggested that participants should carefully evaluate the achieved results as well as point out any shortcomings in order to work out measures to improve the two sides’ collaboration in the time to come.
For his part, General Lich agreed with Secretary Nhan’s opinions and held that the two sides have boosted information exchange and addressed difficulties in order to fulfill each side’ tasks. However, both sides should further their collaboration to give expeditious advice to the Party and the State to deal with the unpredictable and complicated developments of the region and the world, he added.
At the conference, the two sides highlighted outstanding achievements of their collaboration in the past, which contributed to promoting the synergy of the whole political system in building the whole-people defense posture in line with the people's security posture and reinforcing the local armed forces strongly in terms of politics, ideology and organization.
