Soldiers in a training session
In this third quarterly report, the Central Military Commission and the MND directed troops in the whole army in carrying out key tasks towards overcoming weaknesses to best fulfill military-defense missions. Units and agencies in the whole army were to quickly appraise the situations, strictly implement combat readiness tasks and make timely proposals to the Party and State in dealing with issues as they arise.

Particularly, in the quarter, the MND directed the Naval Service to coordinate with other forces in conducting the management and protection of maritime security in line with Vietnam’s law and the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

Units in the whole army sent hundreds of working groups to grassroots localities to help strengthen and improve operations of the local authorities in nearly 300 needy communes and in remote and border areas. Defense-economic units also helped create jobs for more than 101,000 laborers and held more than 76,000 sessions to disseminate the guidelines of the Party, the Constitution and State’s law to people.
