At the working session, Major General Nguyen Doan Anh, Commander of the command briefed NA Chairwoman Ngan on the development of Hanoi’s armed forces since the establishment 71 years ago. Over the past time, they have actively and proactively made recommendations to the city’s authorities and Party Committee to effectively carry out military and defense tasks, while boosting the socio-economic development in combination with defense-security reinforcement as well as building up Hanoi as a firm defensive area of the country.
The NA Chairwoman spoke highly of the local troops’ tasks performance over the past years, adding that they should continue to uphold their traditions to gain more achievements.
The top legislator urged the Hanoi Capital Command to heighten troops’ political stance and combat readiness; focus on promoting competence of regular troops, militia forces, and reservists; and build up strong Party organizations and comprehensively strong units at all levels.
In addition, the command’s leadership should beef up the implementation of the Resolution of the Fourth Plenum of the 12th Party Central Committee on Party building and revamping, and preventing the degradation of political ideology, morality and lifestyle, “self-evolution” and “self-transformation”; and the movement “Learning and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example,” she concluded.
For his part, Lieutenant General Nguyen The Ket, Political Commissar of the Hanoi Capital Command, on behalf of the unit’s troops, thanked the NA’s leader for her recommendations and pledged to well perform all assigned political, military and defense tasks.
