During the event, Major General Trinh Hoang Hiep, Director of the Border Guard Academy, briefed the guests on the unit’s task performance in 2020 as well as the implementation of combat readiness missions ahead of lunar New Year (Tet) 2021.

Reportedly, last year, the academy completed training programs for 2,784 cadets with good results. Meanwhile, it also mobilized lecturers and cadets to take part in COVID-19 prevention and control work in southern and northern border provinces. Currently, 460 officers and cadets of the school are carrying out their task of preventing illegal border crossings and COVID-19 prevention and control during the upcoming Tet.

On behalf of the delegation, General Tien hailed the remarkable achievements of the academy over the past year, and requested them to continue bringing into play last year’s achievements and overcoming difficulties to fulfill all assigned missions.

As the lunar New Year 2021 is nearing, General Tien and General Dao presented Tet gifts and extended Tet greetings to the academy.
