General Phan Van Giang extends Tet greetings to President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board
PANO - On January 27, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, visited and extended Tet (lunar New Year) greetings to the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board.
Accompanying the delegation were Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, and Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People's Army, among other officials.
During the visit, Major General Pham Hai Trung, Commander of the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Protection Command, outlined the unit's achievements in 2024 and its preparations for the 2025 Tet celebration. He emphasized the successful execution of their mission to protect President Ho Chi Minh’s embalmed body and ensure security during ceremonial activities, while also providing public information and facilitating visits.

The unit coordinated with relevant forces to maintain strict security at key sites, including the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ba Dinh Square, the Monument to War Heroes and Martyrs on Bac Son Street, and the K9 Relic Site, ensuring the safety of Party and State leaders' activities as well as visits from foreign officials paying tribute President Ho Chi Minh and fallen heroes.

Speaking at the event, General Phan Van Giang commended the board for its outstanding achievements in 2024. He highlighted the importance of adhering to the directives from the Prime Minister, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense regarding combat readiness and preparations for Tet 2025. He urged the board to maintain combat readiness during the Tet festival, as well as accelerate unity to overcome challenges to fulfill its special political mission entrusted by the Party, State, and the people.
