General Do Ba Ty visits units under Army Corps 3
PANO – Former Chief of the General Staff and former Deputy Defense Minister General Do Ba Ty visited units under Army Corps 3 and Gia Lai and Kon Tum provincial Party Committees and authorities on August 1 and 2.
During the visits to Army Corps 3’s units and Central Highlands’ localities, General Do Ba Ty was briefed on the socio-economic development, national defense, and security situation, as well as their outcomes in training, combat readiness observance, and unit building.
The former chief of the General Staff expressed delight at the outstanding development of Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces over the past time. The localities’ socio-economic infrastructure has developed, the living standards of ethnic minority people have improved, and defense and security disposition has been continuously consolidated.

While visiting units under Army Corps 3, General Do Ba Ty expressed delight at their comprehensive development. General Do Ba Ty emphasized the important position of Army Corps 3 in the whole people’s defense posture. He urged the Party committees and chains-of-command at all levels to promote education to make troops fully aware of their tasks as well as resolutions and directives of the Party, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense.

He asked the units to raise the quality of training and combat readiness capability; prepare forces, vehicles, and plans to help local people overcome consequences of natural disasters and conduct search and rescue; actively support localities in carrying out the national target programs on sustainable poverty reduction, new-styled rural area building, and socio-economic development in ethnic minority groups and in mountainous areas; take good care of troops and their relatives’ life; building healthy, comprehensively strong, exemplary, and outstanding Party committees, Party organizations and units to better meet task requirements.
On the occasion, General Do Ba Ty laid wreath and offered incense in commemoration of fallen soldiers at Army Corps 3’s Monument and Division 10’s Commemorative House dedicated to fallen soldiers.
