PANO – The Department 11, under the General Department 2, has marked its 30th anniversary of traditional Day (July 3rd, 1982-2012) and received the title “Hero of the people’s armed forces”.

Present at the ceremony were Senior Lieutenant-General Nguyen Thanh Cung, Deputy Defence Minister, leaders from army units and representatives from localities in the Central-Central Highlands.

General Phung Quang Thanh, Politburo member, Defence Minister, sent his complements to congratulate the unit for this honor.

On behalf of the State President Truong Tan Sang, Senior Lieutenant-General Nguyen Thanh Cung pinned the “Hero of the people’s armed forces” insignia on the Department 11’s “Determined to Win” Military Flag.

Addressing the event, General Nguyen Thanh Cung highly valued the achievements of the unit’s officers and soldiers over the past 30 years and also asked them to boost the political education work, improve the staff’s knowledge and grasp thoroughly all of the Party’s resolutions. Besides, the Department 11 should promote unity between the army and the people as well as associate with local authorities to maintain social order, and to fulfill all assigned tasks.
