On January 17th, 1975, Engineering Regiment 575 (the brigade’s predecessor) was founded to meet demands of the anti-American resistance war for national salvation. During the war, right after its establishment, the regiment consolidated its force, built bridges, neutralized thousands of bombs and mines and annihilated thousands of enemies, contributing to the success of the Central Highland Campaign and the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign.

The brigade is now an operational-level engineering unit of Military Zone 1. Its major missions are combat readiness training, implementation of defence projects, bomb and mine deactivation, natural disaster prevention, search and rescue, mass mobilization and support for political organizations in localities.

With its outstanding achievements over the past 40 years, the brigade is honored to be presented the order by the State President.
