At the "Gathering for outstanding voluntary enlistees and discharged soldiers in 2025" program, co-organized by the Hanoi Municipal Youth Union and the Hanoi Capital Military Command, many young participants were deeply moved upon hearing Lieutenant General Pham Tuan, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces and former Chief of the General Department of Defense Industry, recount his heroic wartime memories. He emphasized that determination stems from love for one’s homeland, family, and people, encouraging the recruits to uphold this spirit as they embark on their service.

Recruits of Tay Ho district learning about Dong Co Temple and the “Loyalty oath ceremony”

In 2025, Tay Ho district has 50 voluntarily enlisting youths, with 34 having completed refresher courses on the Party-related knowledge. Notably, three individuals have been officially admitted into the Communist Party of Vietnam, while two others are preparing for Party membership. The Tay Ho district Youth Union chapter, in collaboration with the district’s Military Command and Public Security Force and the Buoi ward Party Committee and People’s Committee, hosted the "Gathering and education about traditions for youths joining the military and public security services in 2025" at Dong Co Temple - a site of deep historical significance, known for the "Loyalty oath ceremony."

For many Tay Ho district youths, learning about the history of Dong Co Temple and the “Loyalty oath ceremony” firsthand, just before their enlistment, evoked a strong sense of national pride and patriotism.

At the gathering, Nguyen Le Hoang, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Tay Ho District Party Committee, affirmed that such programs not only provide encouragement but also foster patriotism among young recruits.

Learning from past recruitment experience, Hanoi’s districts and town have organized refresher courses on the Party knowledge for recruits. In 2025, 2,075 young enlistees have completed these courses, with 112 officially admitted as Party members, an increase of 2.8% from 2024. Furthermore, 26% of enlistees hold university or college degrees, setting a strong foundation for future contribution to the military and public security forces.

To motivate the youths before deployment, Hanoi city’s local authorities have actively organized Tet (lunar New Year) gatherings for gift-giving and encouragement.

With support from Hanoi’s authorities and local organizations, these meaningful activities have contributed to reinforcing young recruits' confidence, motivation, and determination to continue promoting Vietnam’s tradition of national protection.
