DNA tests conducted on 15,000 sets of martyrs

PANO – The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) and the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Science and Technology have worked together on a project to identify sets of remains of unknown martyrs, according to Mr. Hoang Cong Thai, Head of the Department of People with Special Contributions to the Nation, under the MoLISA.
Under the project, 25,000 sets of remains of martyrs will be identified in the 2012-2015 period, of which, about 15,000 will be identified by genetic tests.
In 2015-2020 period, 63,000 sets of martyrs’ remains will be identified; (50,000 of them will be done by DNA tests).
