PANO – Division 312 of Army Corps 1 on December 25th held a ceremony to celebrate its 65th founding anniversary. Lieutenant General Nguyen Quoc Khanh, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Duoc, Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans’ Association, attended the meeting.

Set up in 1950 in Kim Lang commune, Lap Thach district, Vinh Phuc province, Brigade 312 (predecessor of Division 312) took part in many important campaigns, including the Dien Bien Phu Campaign to capture alive French General De Castries, the Quang Tri Campaign in 1972, and the Ho Chi Minh Campaign in 1975, making contributions to the national reunification.

Over the past 65 years, generations of the troops have promoted the unit’s traditions and overcome difficulties to obtain remarkable feats of arm. The unit has strictly carried out training plans with high quality, and maintained solidarity among its troops.

The unit was presented with the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” and many other noble orders for its achievements
