Defense leaders commemorate heroic martyrs in Quang Tri
PANO - A mission of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, led by Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, Deputy Defense Minister; and Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, on April 28 offered incense and flowers in tribute to the late General Vo Nguyen Giap and heroic martyrs.
General Le Chiem and his entourage offered incense and laid wreaths to commemorate the General and fallen soldiers in Quang Binh province, the ancient citadel of Quang Tri, the Road 9 National War Cemetery, and the Truong Son National War Cemetery in Quang Tri province. They expressed deep gratitude to those who had devoted their youth and sacrificed their lives for national independence and freedom, and vowed to build a revolutionary, regular, elite, and increasingly modern army.

Earlier, at the Dong Loc Junction in Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province, the mission offered incense and flowers to commemorate and express gratitude to volunteer youths, and visited the grave of ten Dong Loc T-junction female volunteers.
