Corps 18's helicopter on relief flight to flood-hit region
PANO - On September 11 afternoon, immediately after receiving the order from the Ministry of National Defense (MND), a helicopter from the Northern Vietnam Helicopter Company of the Vietnam National Helicopter Corporation (Corps 18) under the MND departed from Hanoi to provide relief to the Northern mountainous provinces severely impacted by floods caused by recent Typhoon Yagi.

Accordingly, at 1:04 p.m. on September 11, the modern EC-155B1 helicopter, bearing the registration number VN-8621, took off for the mission under challenging weather conditions, including heavy rain. The crew, led by Lt. Col. Le Hai Dang, Deputy Director of the Northern Vietnam Helicopter Company, included Maj. Hoang Anh Duc as the co-pilot and non-commissioned Lt. Ngo Tien Dung as the aviation mechanic.

The supplies carried for the flood relief efforts included field rations, milk, instant noodles, and others.
At 2:08 p.m., the crew landed in Nguyen Binh district, Cao Bang province, and handed to the district Military Command all the supplies, which would then be delivered to flood-affected people.

Also on September 11, Corps 18 deployed helicopters to serve the inspection and assessment of the post-storm recovery efforts in Quang Ninh province.
