At the meeting, General Luong Cuong, a member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee and Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, informed the participants of the aforementioned meeting’s agenda.

General Cuong stated that in order to build a politically-, ideologically-, organizationally- and morally-strong Military Party Organization, Party committees of defense and military units at all levels have effectively implemented the Resolution of the Fourth Meeting of the 12th Party Central Committee, Directive 05 from the Politburo on enhancing the movement “Learning and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morals and style”, Regulation No.8 from the Party Central Committee requiring cadres and Party members in the military to uphold their responsibility and role model, and Resolution No.55 from the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee on preparing personnel for Party congresses at all level and the 13th National Party Congress.

During the meeting, delegates also discussed the military’s achievements in implementing military-defense tasks, made forecasts on developments of situations in the region and world, and their impacts on the military’s mission implementation in the coming time. They also highlighted the need to build a politically-, ideologically-, organizationally- and morally-strong Military Party Organization and a comprehensively strong military in the current situation.

In his speech, Defense Minister Lich applauded the military’s all-out efforts to effectively complete their missions in the first four months of this year, contributing to raising the military’s prestige and deserving the trust of the Party, State, and people.

General Lich underscored that the 12th Meeting of the 12th Party Central Committee is an important political event of the Party and the country, which has attracted great attention of cadres, Party members and people from all walks of life. He added that important issues will be debated and approved at the event; therefore, military delegates should raise their political responsibility, carefully study the agenda’s contents, actively participate in discussion sessions and give their opinions to the Party Central Committee’s projects, contributing to the success of the meeting.
