Central Military Hospital 108 holds blood donation activity
PANO - Central Military Hospital 108, in collaboration with the Military Science and Technology Institute, organized a blood donation festive day, themed “Donating blood to save comrades,” on September 15 in Hanoi.
According to Deputy Director of the Military Science and Technology Institute Senior Colonel Duong Nhat Dan, the event demonstrated the voluntary spirit and responsibility of troops to the society, especially patients.
Emphasizing the noble deed of donating blood, Senior Colonel Duong Nhat Dan said that blood donation is one of the annual activities of the Military Science and Technology Institute, attracting the active participation of its cadres, staff, troops, and workers. In 2020 and 2021 when the COVID-19 pandemic was complicated, the institute still maintained its blood donation activities. Many individuals with active participation in blood donation movements were honored by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society.
Mentioning blood shortage situation in patient treatment, Deputy Director of Central Military Hospital 108 Senior Colonel Nguyen Hoang Ngoc said that he treasures every drop of blood donated by personnel of the Military Science and Technology Institute. He emphasized that the blood units collected at the event would greatly contribute to treating troops and people.
Senior Colonel Nguyen Hoang Ngoc said that over the past time blood donation movement has been widely carried out and become one of the outstanding models which has been paid special attention to by Party committees and chains-of-command of military units. The active participation of troops in the whole military in these activities have demonstrated the vanguard and voluntary spirit of youth, their kindness, and responsibility for the community.
Annually, troops in the whole military donate from 35,000 to 50,000 units of blood, contributing to saving lives of many troops and people.
