The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief of Staff of the ADAF Senior Colonel Ta Minh Hung and delegates from the service’s department, its units, academies, and schools.

This year’s event attracts the participation of around 200 officers, non-commissioned officers, and troops of 15 teams from units, academies, and schools in the whole service. During the three-day event, athletes will compete in such events as men and women’s K54 shooting and men’s AK shooting.

Speaking at the event, Col. Hung said that the competition aims to evaluate the quality of agencies, units, and schools’ advanced shooting training, thus renewing training methods to meet the requirements of combat readiness and international integration, and competition with the armed forces of other countries in the region. Additionally, the event is to select outstanding athletes to participate in the armywide rifle meet in 2024.

The deputy chief of staff of the ADAF asked the organizing panel to well operate the competition and the referees to thoroughly grasp the competition’s plan and regulations and make objective and accurate assessment. Participating units were requested to strictly adhere to discipline, ensure absolute safety regarding personnel, weapons, and equipment. The athletes were urged to comply with the competition regulations, uphold the spirit of unity, learn from one another, and be confident to achieve the highest possible results in the competition.
