PANO – The Vietnam Helicopter Corporation in association with local party committee and authorities of Thach Da commune, Me Linh district, Hanoi on April 24th handed over two houses to a martyr’s widow Le Thi Tung in hamlet 4 and Le Xuan Dinh an Agent Orange victim in hamlet 1.
The houses’ total cost of VND 300 million is raised from the corporation, benefactors and their relatives.
Since the beginning of this year, the corporation has built nine gratitude houses and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries and those who had rendered good service to the nation.
Earlier on April 22nd, Minister of National Defence General Phung Quang Thanh signed the Decision 1325 on providing VND 35 billion to assist units in constructing houses for needy troops and policy beneficiaries and organize gratitude activities in 2014.
Accordingly, all army units plan to build 1,000 gratitude houses for needy troops, war veterans and those who had rendered good service to the revolutionary cause of the nation.
General Thanh also approved the Plan 551 on organizing this year’s gratitude activities with the focus on carrying out policies for those who had rendered good service to the nation, raising more funds for the “Gratitude” Fund and promoting gratitude activities.
