The Vietnamese delegation was led by Colonel Nguyen Quang Huy, Head of the Military Youth Advisory Board under the General Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam People’s Army, while the Singaporean delegation was headed by Naval Commander Koh Zhi Chao.
The talk was part of the ongoing Vietnam - Singapore Young Officers Exchange Program. The exchange gives both sides an opportunity to share professional information and experience, promote solidarity, mutual trust, and understanding between the two militaries. It also reaffirms the determination of young military officers from both countries to contribute to strengthening the Vietnam - Singapore comprehensive strategic partnership.
At the event, Col. Huy proposed enhancing education and dissemination about the history and significance of the Vietnam - Singapore relations among young officers and people of both nations. He also suggested regularly sharing information; combating against plots and acts of sabotage of hostile forces in an attempt to undermine the relationship between the two militaries and peoples in a timely manner. He also called for continued exchanges and sharing of practical experience in professional duties and task performance.
Agreeing with these suggestions, Commander Koh Zhi Chao emphasized that young Singaporean officers wish to learn from and exchange valuable experience with their Vietnamese counterparts, and that both sides should continue promoting cooperation to make effective contribution to bilateral defense relations.
