Volunteer soldiers and advisors prepared for grand celebration
PANO - On October 12, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) of the Vietnam People’s Army Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau chaired a working session between the GDP and the Liaison Board of Veteran Vietnamese Volunteer Soldiers and Advisors in Laos to discuss plans for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of foundation day of the force (October 30, 1949 - 2024).
The event was also attended by Major General Ngo Thanh Hai, Chief of the GDP’s Department of Mass Mobilization; and Major General Huynh Dac Huong, former Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, Head of the liaison board, among others.

On the occasion, the board reported plans to organize a number of activities to mark the 75th anniversary of its foundation day, while making recommendations to the GDP, the Ministry of National Defense and relevant agencies.
Addressing the event, Gen. Gau affirmed that the liaison board was established to gather former volunteer soldiers and advisors in Laos in wartime.
Over the past years, the organization has held many meaningful activities, contributing to promoting and tightening the Vietnam - Laos special traditional friendship. Therefore, the GDP leaders always acknowledge the activities and recommendations of the liaison board.

The GDP deputy chief requested the Department of Mass Mobilization to work with functional units to collect the recommendations to report to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense as regulated.
