Vietnamese province helps Lao people overcome flood consequences
PANO - A delegation of the Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee, led by Ms. Pham Thi Han, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, visited and handed over gifts to Laos’ province of Khammouane to support the Lao province in overcoming flood consequences.
Due to the complicated developments of the weather, the Central provinces of Laos witnessed prolonged and heavy rains, causing flooding and landslides in some localities and great damage in human lives and property. Particularly, ten districts with 98 villages of Khammouane province have been affected by floods.

Upon receiving the information, the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command gave timely recommendations to the province’s People’s Committee and took urgent measures to support the Lao province in surmounting flood aftermaths.
On the occasion, the Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee presented necessities, food, medicines, and VND 300 million in cash to the local authority and people of Khammouane province.
In addition, the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command offered gifts, worth VND 100 million, to the Lao province’s Military Command and police force to support the units in the settlement of flood consequences and search and rescue missions.

These activities aimed to help Khammouane province to overcome the consequences of the recent flooding and stabilize people’s life.
The delegation took the occasion to offer incense at the temple to pay tribute to Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who laid down their lives in Khammouane province.
