The visit concluded the activities of 2019 and will follow next year in 2020 with Russia visiting Vietnam. The trip contributed to further developing the time-honored friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia, as well as promoting cooperation between the two militaries and the two navies in particular.
It offered a chance to introduce to the host Russia and other naval forces the expertise of Vietnamese naval troops in mastering modern equipment and independently operating for days far from home.
This was also an opportunity for Vietnam to exchange and learn experiences, helping build up their capacity in order to prepare for hosting and organizing multilateral naval activities when Vietnam takes the ASEAN Chair in 2020.
On this occasion, authorized by the Commander of the Vietnam People’s Navy, a leader of the Naval Region 4 Command handed over the “Ocean-going Sailor” Insignia to members of the delegation.
