The hospital's medical staff provided them with general check-ups, ultrasounds, tests, blood pressure measurements, health advice and supplements. This meaningful activity received high appreciation from the mission commander and other units. The activity demonstrated the attention to and care for the health of female staff in the mission, who are dedicating themselves to the international mission in the harsh environment in South Sudan.

Sergeant Enkhjargal from Mongolian peacekeeping force expressed her touchingness with the thoughtfulness of Vietnamese medical staff. She said that she and others always feel the professionalism and kindness of the medical staff of Vietnam’s L2FH, adding that the activity not only helped take care of their health but also created a cohesive, humane working environment.

According to Colonel, Doctor Nguyen Thi Chien, head of the Department of Surgery, women in peacekeeping forces always face many pressures, ranging from professional tasks to harsh living conditions. Therefore, health examination contributes to early detecting potential health problems and at the same time is a source of spiritual encouragement to them, helping them feel secure at work.

This activity held a practical meaning to say thanks to the women who are helping build peace in one of the most disadvantaged regions in the world.

In the coming time, the Vietnam’s L2FH Rotation 6 will launch more specialized healthcare programs to improve the living standards of all staff at UNMISS.
