The delegation and leaders of the Indonesian Coast Guard

Senior Colonel Nguyen Tran Dong, Deputy Commander of Coast Guard Region 3 and head of the delegation, affirmed that the visit was an important defense diplomacy activity and a highlight in international cooperation efforts of the Vietnam Coast Guard, aiming to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2). It also contributed to realizing agreements on maritime incident response and law enforcement at sea signed between Vietnam and Indonesia, while elevating the traditional friendship between the two coast guard forces to a new height.

During the visit in Jakarta, the delegation paid courtesy calls on leaders of Jakarta city and the Indonesian Coast Guard; attended a bilateral conference, engaged in sports exchanges with Indonesian Coast Guard officers and sailors, and participated in cultural tours of Jakarta. Notably, the two forces also conducted joint training activities at sea.

During the reception and working sessions with the Vietnamese delegation, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo and Vice Admiral Irvansyah, Commander of the Indonesian Coast Guard, highlighted the significance of the visit of ship CSB 8001 and the Vietnamese delegation. They said that fostering exchange and substantial cooperation between the two forces is important to building regional waters of peace, stability, and sustainable development. They highly appriciated the goodwill and commitment of the Vietnam Coast Guard to actively expanding international collaboration, thereby contributing to the maintenance of maritime security and stability in the region.

For his part, Sr. Col. Nguyen Tran Dong noted that the visit represented an important step forward in the relations between the two forces, consolidating mutual trust and understanding and creating momentum to further enhance the effectiveness of maritime law enforcement in the time ahead.

Immediately after leaving Jakarta Port, Ship CSB 8001 joined Indonesian Coast Guard vessels in conducting joint exercises in Indonesian waters before returning to Vietnam.
